Lee Hansheng Studios
Hansheng Lee is a multimedia Taiwanese artist currently operating out of Richmond, Virginia. His love for the arts started at a young age and fed into multiple aspects of his academic years. He holds a BFA in Art education and Illustration with a minor in Painting & Printmaking, and ceramics; as well as a MFA in Illustration. After working many years in the corporate art setting and freelancing he decided to focus on his personal art studio where he has a multiple disciplinary focuses on physical and digital painting as well as stained glass, ceramic, and enamel work.

Hansheng Lee is a Taiwanese American artist whose passion for art ignited in early adolescence. Growing up surrounded by creativity, with several artists in the family, he found inspiration in the vibrant culture and rich artistic heritage of Taiwan. This early exposure to diverse artistic expressions laid the foundation for his unique style.
Hansheng works in a variety of mediums, focusing primarily on digital and physical paintings. His specialties include watercolor, acrylic, gouache, and oil paint, alongside stunning stained glass, enamel, and ceramic works. This versatility allows him to explore a wide range of textures and techniques.
His art often reflects a fusion of Asian and Western influences, delving into themes of nature and the environment. Hansheng’s work features captivating forest scenes, dynamic cityscapes, and mesmerizing ocean scapes, as well as digital futuristic landscapes that invite viewers to imagine new possibilities.
Influenced by artists such as Yuko Shimizu, the masters of Ukiyo-e, Salvador Dalí, Joan Miró, and many others, Hansheng draws inspiration from both traditional and contemporary styles. These influences enrich his artistic vision, allowing him to create pieces that resonate on multiple levels.
Currently, he is focused on a digital series of temples and a watercolor series that explores the world around us, highlighting the juxtaposition of different environments. Through these projects, Hansheng strives to connect viewers to the beauty and complexity of our surroundings.
Hansheng has exhibited his work in various galleries and shows, including the Slant Wall at Glen Allen Cultural Arts Center, VCU, and many more. He continues to engage with the art community, participating in artisan shows and makers markets.
